My name is Gamini Gunawardena. I was a chemistry professor at Utah Valley University, Orem, Utah, USA for 26 years and now am an emeritus professor. I was born and raised in Sri Lanka.  After earning a BSc in biological science from Ruhuna University, Matara, I immigrated to the US to pursue graduate studies.  I hold an MS from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio and a PhD from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, both specializing in organic chemistry.
