Assisted Homolysis

An assisted homolysis is a homolysis, caused by a free radical.  Since an assisted homolysis is always accompanied by the formation of a bond, an assisted homolysis may be exothermic or endothermic.

Standard enthalpy of an assisted homolysis = BDE (bond broken) — BDE (bond formed)

BDE: bond dissociation energy
